My first acupuncture visit in Union Square

Little did I know that my very first acupuncture treatment in Union Square in NYC would lead me to open my own clinic 5 years later in the same area of Union Square Park where I now practice for 30 years and taking over some of the old acupuncturist's patients.
I was greeted by an old Chinese acupuncturist. After I asked him few acupuncture related questions his answer was same: "acupuncture little by little". I felt horrified that the acupuncturist had no clue what I was there for, but then I thought he was very old with grey hair (like mine now) he would know what to do. My second wave of fear came when I saw the acupuncturist pull out big long acupuncture needles. (Are those for me, seriously?). I relaxed again until I was on the treatment table and the acupuncturist started jamming long needles into my stressed from Wall Street work body. The needles were quickly jammed to 1.5 inches into my abdomen (old school methods). After the acupuncturist left I started feeling the energy move and after 4 visits many of my digestive problems improved. |
I worked at Metropolitan Hospital for over four years as an acupuncturist treating heroin and cocaine addictedpatients.
I always maintained my private practice and also worked in many clinics supervising social workers who did ear acupuncture and regular wellness clinics as well. Now, 25 years later I am a licensed acupuncturist practicing in the same Union Square in NYC as the old Chinese acupuncturist did, how ironic is that? The methods of acupuncture I practice are not painful and I am mindful of people's tolerance for discomfort or fear of needles. I use different methods and techniques for different patients to address their physical health and emotional needs. 
Over the years I have seen many patients. Everyday I get up thinking how lucky I am that I chose acupuncture profession and now I can help people in need with their health and I get to do it full time.

At the time of visits, I thought that if I became a licensed acupuncturist then nobody would come for my treatments and I would be homeless or doing something else. Later on I moved to Hawaii to study acupuncture at Tai Hsuan Foundation Acupuncture School, then to Florida Acupuncture School and
finally finished my training at Tri State Acupuncture school in Manhattan.
I am thankful to all my acupuncture, Chinese Medicine and Bioresonance clients who trust me with their healthcare needs, who are also my teachers and mentors at the same time.
