Q. "What are your rates ? I'm just shopping" A: I often hear. You shop for shoes, you research a Dr. A good acupuncturist charges a market rate, will resolve your health concern in fewer visits, which = savings $ for you. There are many acupuncture styles and methods and some work better than others.
Q. How to find a good Acupuncturist ? A: Look for one who talks about his experience NOT education. Ask your potential acupuncturist about his success for your particular condition and browse the website and look at independent patient testimonials.
Q. What about other medical practitioners who do Acupuncture ? Are they OK ? A. Good or great Acupuncturist is a Licensed one with initials of L.Ac after the name. As only licensed acupuncturists are fully trained and practice nothing, but acupuncture as opposed to other medical practitioners who have limited training and spend very little time practicing and perfecting the ART. You wouldn't go to a dentist to get a back surgery ? Would you ?
Q. How long is an Acupuncture visit ? A: First Acupuncture visit may last from 60 to 75 minutes, follow up visits 30 - 45 min, depending on case complexity. Needles retained from 20 to 45 min depending on condition.
Q. How many visits will I need for my condition ? A: Acute conditions may require about 3 to 6 visits and chronic up to 3 months. Often pain is reduced before the treatment is over and more Tx may be needed to stabilize long-term recovery).
Q. How often do I need to come ? A: Usually 1 to 2 x week. In very severe cases up to 3 times.
Q. Do Acupuncture needles hurt ? A. Generally, NO. Some people may experience tingling, radiating sensation at the insertion site, but it's due to stimulation of energy which quickly subsides and produces powerful healing.
Acupuncture needles are very, very thin and contain no medicine on them. Needle's about 10 times thinner than injection needles. The depth and acupuncture methods can be adjusted to person's sensitivity.
Q. Are Acupuncture needles clean ? A. Acupuncture needles are disposable and pre-sterilized. NEVER used on more than one person. It is the Law !
Q. What should I feel during or after Acupuncture session A. Most people fall asleep on the table or experience deep relaxation. Acupuncture experience varies from individual to individual and depends on the person's state of mind on the given day or moment.
Q. Can you treat more than one problem in one session ? A. Yes, in our clinic all problems are prioritized according to the person's complaints and findings. Acupuncture treatments balance the body, mind, and Spirit all at the same time, in a single session.
Q. What if I am not sure if Acupuncture can help my condition ? A: Give it a try, have an open mind, sometimes first initial visit may give you a clue if you should continue. Get about 6 visits for a chronic problem and about 3 treatments for acute problems, to see if your symptoms are relieved. Acupuncture works on many levels and you are more likely than not to benefit from this age old system that worked for so many. Acupuncture worked for centuries for millions of people and it works for my patients and me as well. Yes, I am also a patient and use it for wellness.
