BODY TYPES & Weight Loss

Some people hold more weight at different body areas. Those having more flesh or puffiness at the top, have more of a Lung imbalance.
The once in the lower body with water retention in the legs, usually have problems with the kidneys as improper Kidney functions will accumulate water in the lower body.
Puffiness all over the body is usually due to Spleen and or Kidney malfunctioning in Chinese Medicine.
There are other miscellenious body types and some can be regulated with Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs. I have seen quite a few people reduce weight throuhgh  by regulating water retention and getting rid of access water in the body.
 
FOODS:  Avoid greasy or fried foods. Eat less meat and more fruits and vegetables, especially green once.

Eat the biggest meal in the morning between 9-11am (strongest digestive function of stomach and spleen is at those times), eat much less at dinner time.  Eat reasonable snacks in between meals, especially toward dinner. Best is you replace your dinner with, say 3-4 small snacks and a glass of water with lemon for instance.  (eating smaller and frequent meals will help you reduce your appetite and reduce the size of your stomach and therefore help you consume less food. 

 

 Eat OATMEAL for breakfast and may be even dinner. Change toppings according  to your taste: cranberries, walnuts, seeds, raisins, flax seeds etc.

 

DRINKS:
Avoid drinking cold and especially iced drinks. Cold water requires more digestive energy, also ice cubes may contain impurities. HERBS:
Chinese Herbs can greatly balance your digestion by reducing constipation and regulating your metabolism. Herbs along with Acupuncture can reduce water retention wich in turn can reduce your weight and make you look fitter and feel better.
 
To lose weight you need to burn more calories  than you consume.  The best way is to eat smaller meals and eat many snacks in between meals, (up  to 6-8 a day) so you can eat smaller meals to decrease appetite and cravings. There are special points in Acupuncture that may help reduce food cravings and adjust metabolism.

EXERCISES
Got to burn those calories and you may as well feel good about doing it. You need to pick the once that appeal to your personality.
