Endometriosis is a common gynecological disease which
manifests by the growth of uterine glands outside the uterine cavity.
Endometriosis lesions can be found anywhere in the pelvic cavity: on the
ovaries, the fallopian tubes, and on the pelvic sidewall. In addition endometriosis can be found in cesarean-section
scars, laparoscopy or laparotomy scars, and on the bladder, bowel, intestines, colon, appendix, and rectum.
In some rare cases, endometriosis has been found inside the vagina, inside
the bladder, on the skin, even in the lung, spine, and brain.
Endometriosis can also cause scar tissue to develop that can alter
a woman’s internal anatomy. In some advanced stages, internal organs may fuse together, causing a condition known
as a "frozen pelvis."
Endometriosis effects about 10% of all women and is present in about
30-50% of women with infertility. It may effect as much as 6 million women in the USA alone.
Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine view Endometriossis as a Blood
Stasis resulting in internal blockages. These blockages obstruct the flow of energy and blood and cause severe abdominal
pain and are often a cause of infertility.
Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs can greatly relieve pain and produce normal blood flow
to reproductive organs and promote and facilitate fertility. Acupuncture can also reduce the side effects of pain medications
and reduce or in some cases eliminate dependence on harmful drugs. (Check
with your MD).
Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture can
also slow the progression of Endometriosis, reduce reproductive pains and improve quality of life and greatly raise
fertility odds.
We see a number of women improve this condition at our
Acupuncture clinic and successfully achieve a state of fertility and pregnancy.
