Sciatica Pain in New York
Sciatic Pain, after the low back pain, shares the spot as most frequent
conditions treated in our clinic. Sciatica is often more of a neurological pain, which often manifests with nerve pain
and tingling some times even burning pain. Usually the pain starts in the low back and travels down the leg (sometimes as
far as the toes area).
Acupuncture Sciatica Types
The most common type of sciatica is the one with pain traveling from low back
down the midsection of the back of the leg. This type of sciatica is known to Acupuncturists as Bladder Sciatica, because
this area belongs to the Bladder Meridian. If sciatic pain is along the frontal aspect of the leg, then it involves Stomach
Meridian Energy blockage. If sciatica travels along lateral side of the leg, then it is due to the blockage of the Acupuncture
Gall Bladder Meridian or Pathways.
Acupuncture for Knee Pain - Knees support
whole body weight and take a lot of pounding. After back, sciatica and neck pain, knee pain is next in frequency. Chinese
Medicine says that knees are controlled by kidneys. However as far as Acupuncture is concerned, knee pain can be attributed
to blocked Stomach (knee cap area), Kidney (inside the knee pain), Urinary Bladder (back of the knee area)
Acupuncture Neck Pain treatments focus usually on two major areas. Back of the neck area belongs in Acupuncture and Chinese
Medicine to Urinary Bladder and Small Intestine energy. Sometimes the pain can extend to the shoulder blade area or between
shoulder blades for this type of pain.
Lateral or sides or the neck pain relates to Gall Bladder Acupuncture Channels
and those are being "opened up". An Acupuncturist will promote the flow of energy in that region to increase range of motion
and reduce pain in the neck and upper shoulder area.
